Twelve poured a chocolate brown color with a two fingered, frothy, off white head. The aroma is deep, with plenty of
malt and some yeast. The body is loaded with carbonation that gives the beer a light feeling on the palate. The
flavors are layered on top of each other, with dark fruits, spices and plenty of yeast all meshing well together. TWELVE
finishes dry, with a light alcohol warmth. Overall, this is another very, very good beer from Ithaca's Excelsior
line. The beer is enjoyable from start to finish with the complex body really leaving a great impression. The
carbonation is just a little high and I think toning it down just a little would allow the flavors to show through a little
more and would make it an all-time great beer.
