White Gold poured a cloudy, orange-yellow color with a thumb width, white head and plenty of sediment floating around.
The nose is dominated by wheat, with a some yeasty aromas. The body has plenty of citurs notes that run throughout.
Lots of lemon notes laid over a wheat base. The citrus gives a sharp, sour bite on the finish which is followed by a
very dry lingering feeling on the palate. The beer left some lacing on the glass. Overall, an incredibly unique
beer. The ABV is hidden very well, and there are some hops in there but they have trouble with the hop flavor showing
thorugh in the body. I am not sure if the tart/sour flavors are supposed to be there, and if they are, are they
supposed to be this big? Regardless, I like that aspect and I think the beer is very nice. Ithaca's Excelsior!
line makes some of the best, most interesting beers in New York State.
