Landmark’s
IPA poured a clear, dark copper color with a pen width off white head. The beer gives off an appearance
of ice cold glass of ice tea. The aroma is mostly malt, with some sort of sweeter fruit (peaches?),
and a slight bit of hops. There is a strong hint of what seems like a caramel
syrupy sweetness at the beginning followed by a malty middle. The finish is almost delayed, with
a big amount of very dry hops coming in and lingering as the malt sugars die down. Overall this is a decent
IPA from the folks at Landmark. Hop
fans may not like this as it is not a super dry, hop bomb but rather more like a fairly sweet, malty pale ale then an American
IPA. I like the balance (although the sweetness could be turned down a notch) and more than one can be
enjoyed without running for a glass of water.
