Abbey Ale poured a dark brown color with a pen width tan head that
dissapaited quickly. The aroma had rich malt, figs and a little bit of alcohol. The body is deep, with rich malt,
chocolate, carmelized malt sugars, and a smooth mouthfeel. The finish is not overly long, with a bit of carbonation
and a slight dryness. This is a very flavorful, complex beer that would pair perfectly with a rich meat dish.
Despite the high ABV it does not overwhelm you which speaks to the great balance in the body. Overall, it is just a
great beer.
