poured a deep brown color with a finger width tan head. The aroma has some sweetness but is dominated by tons of rich
malts. The body has a smooth texture with a really unique flavor. The dubbel shines through at the beginning
before transitioning more to a doppelbock flavor towards the finish. The dates are most noticeable in the middle
but are apparent throughout and work well with the two styles. The alcohol is slightly noticeable towards the end which
leads to a warming finish, with some hops showing through as the malts die out a bit. Overall, this is a pretty
damn good beer. I love the idea as it is unique and interesting. The body is big but is not overwhelming and the
blend of the two styles leads to a real nice taste. The beer is decent as a stand alone but would be best paired
with some food, and a cheese plate with some figs would be perfect.
