oat poured a opaque
black color with a finger width, tan head that disappeared quickly. The aroma is deep, malty with a pinch of sugar.
The body is smooth, and thick but maintains a creamy aspect to the mouthfeel. There is plenty of dark malt and a
light sweetness that provides a nice contrast to the moderate bitterness and light alcohol warmth found on the finish.
There was some hanging lace left on the glass. Overall, a flat out delicious beer that is perfect for the colder
months. It is simple, well done and one of Southern Tier's best which is really saying something.
